We’re excited to share that the new version of Google Analytics will soon be activated in your account. In addition to a redesigned interface that makes it even easier to explore your data, you’ll also notice some significant new features. Here are a few of our favorites.

Google Analytics Real-Time Real-Time reporting shows you what’s happening on your site – right now! The reports are updated continuously and each pageview is reported seconds after it occurs on your site. You’ll find Real-Time reports in the ‘Home’ tab.

Multi-Channel Funnels See which channels your customers interacted with during the 30 days prior to converting or purchasing. Flow Visualization Flow Visualization is a beautifully designed and highly sophisticated tool for graphically showing how visitors navigate through your site. We’ve completely re-imagined and redesigned the navigation tools available in the old version of Google Analytics.

Over the next few weeks as we make Google Analytics v5 the default for all users, we are simultaneously rolling out the report email scheduler and PDF export.

Need to check something in the old version? We think you’ll enjoy all the features of the new version but if you need to refer to the old version, there is a safety latch. Look in the top right corner of Google Analytics and you’ll see a link for Old Version. Switch back and forth as much as you need, but keep in mind, that the old version will only be available until early next year.

Want help adjusting to the new version? The Google Analytics Help Center is up to date on all the step by step of how to navigate Analytics using the new version. We have also been running a series on the Google Analytics blog that explores many of the changes and new features. ]]> http://tiyoo.com/google-analytics-updates-real-time-tracking/feed/ 0 Press Releases http://tiyoo.com/press-releases/ http://tiyoo.com/press-releases/#comments Sat, 19 Nov 2011 02:09:45 +0000 charlie http://tiyoo.com/?p=375 Press releases can be a very important part of getting your business name out there.  If you feel that you are going to have newsworthy communication that members of the news media might find interesting.  Its usually something pseudo-news written in the third person that is aimed at getting your event, service, or product out into the news.  We will write a very interesting article/press release for your company and send it out to over 500 different news outlets.  This will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Company Logo (either you provide one or we can design one for you, see our prices page to check out the current prices for logo’s)
  • Your Contact Information
  • Press Release Headline – This line will be written to hook the news agencies to your story
  • Press Release Sub-headline – This is another line that is used to further hook the news agencies but is often looked over.
  • A good lead paragraph – this is basically like your average introduction (for those of you who have taken Journalism 101) which includes a who, what, when, where and why/how of the entire story.
  • Body/Rest of Press Release – The rest of the press release is going to be the meat of the story that backs everything up.  This is where we will put most of the quotes and anything else you can provide us.  Otherwise we are kind of shooting in the dark.  We just need some direction as to where you want it to go.

We try to limit our press releases to one page only because we have found that two pages in the past often  leads to the outlets overlooking the story.  These places do not have all day to read these papers, they want to be able to skim it, get enough interesting info out of it in order to run with it in their news.  If you have read articles in the newspaper, you can kind of get a feeling as to what we are talking about.  You will not find a better price for press releases than with us.  At least not the quality that we deliver ours at.  You could probably find cheaper if you looked really hard but it might not have the grammar or even language you are looking for.  Plus, we are really nice people!

They can all help you collect information needed to make your site run more efficiently. These are also great tools for marketing and business telling you which of your content is being looked at for a longer period of time, more clicks, etc.  What we mean is that if you have an advertisement that you are running on your website, and want to know how effective its being, you can do that with these tools.  You can see what your competitors are doing and what you can do to exceed in the future. These tools are not listed in any particular order:

Alexa

Free Traffic Meters, Search Analytics, Demographics, and More.  They also have a ranking system setup which has been disputed to be ineffective by some but is widely accepted as a worldwide traffic ranking standard for websites.

Google Analytics

Includes segmentation, customization, and eCommerce tracking. Extend its capabilities with a range of third-party tools and apps.

Piwik

A downloadable, open source analytics software with real-time tracking to install on your server. Easy-to-use UI, and you can build your own custom plugins.  Since its open source its completely free and great for developers because you own all the data that you collect.  Piwik offers the following:

  • Real Time Reports
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • Analytics and Ecommerce
  • Goal Conversions Tracking
  • World Map of Your Visitors
  • More…

FireStats

FireStats is a web statistics system. FireStats is free for non-commercial usage. FireStats protect the privacy of your users which a lot of the others do not (including Google Analytics). Some of the other things they offer include the following:

  • Real Time Stats
  • Recent Referrers
  • Search Engine Keywords
  • Recent Popular Pages
  • IP to Country – Know where your users are coming in from.
  • Very Light and easy on sites with heavy traffic.

Yahoo Web Analytics

  1. Back up all of your emails we strongly recommend you install a POP email client on your local PC or Mac and download all the emails from your existing account before a service transfer. If you are not wanting to use an offline client Gmail is REALLY easy to use and free.  You might just have it pick up all your emails that way you can pretty much put them anywhere from your Gmail accout. If you are wanting to use an offline client such as Microsoft Outlook but do not want to spend the money on it, then we suggest you use Mozilla Thunderbird which is completely free also.  Anyways, by doing this you are not going to lose any data in the transition.
  2. Go to your Registars website.  In our case we use Godaddy.com.  Click on My Domains (or wherever your domains are located). Pick the domain you are wanting to change them to.
  3. You should have gotten an email when you registered the domain name or your hosting account (depending on where your domain is currently hosted).  You need to find wherever your nameservers may be (they look like ns3456.hostgator.com) and replace the current ones.  Click Save.
  4. Now you need to get into your CPanel or whatever else you are using and go to Addon Domains.
